why should you care about the passing judgements that people give you based on a mere first impression?
why should you bother to be in any way irked if someone,without thinking, says something regarding you that is untrue?
because unless you know who you are, you will not be in any way offended.
People observe each other's lives. People subconsciously watch the way you lead yours. People observe the type of people you welcome into your life, the choices that you make, the mistakes that you repeat. Yes, it is ultimately your life, but, whether you like it or not, people will always be observing from afar how you lead yours.
and that's how they subconsciously analyse, and then conclude whether you deserve their respect or otherwise. and by the way, compliments do not neccessarily equate to expressions of respect.
so, if u want to set a good impression of thyself, lead thy life the way it's suppossed to be lead. yes, lead your life it's suppossed to be lead first; ask for respect later.
and by the way also, striving for perfection does not neccessarily equate to being unrealistic. it's about setting an example for yourself to follow. how else are you going to self-motivate? how else are you suppossed to accept & deal with your imperfections if your ultimate goal isn't perfection? and while striving for perfection, it don't mean that you have to refrain in any way from being yourself. now that's tough.
